What a FANTASTIC cleanup this weekend at Blenker Marina. We had 3 boats going to Desoto and 2 working Emerson Point. We also had a small army at the marina working one area that had barrels full of small foam and plastic!
We had 50 volunteers, 6 kayaks and 5 boats who collected 4,280 lbs. and packed into a 20-yard dumpster full.
Not to mention an0ther 3180 from Tropic Isles where Suncoast Water Keepers were managing that location!
The power in co-planning events was proven this weekend with nearly 100 volunteers coming out to help! Abbey and Sam from Suncoast Water Keepers did a lot of the behind the scenes promoting and organizing. Sheila from Tampa Bay Estuary program supplied a GREAT lunch from SweetBerries!
